Hi,
I thank all of you who have attended the Story reading and Art/Activity sessions. It is always a pleasure to interact with an eager group of children who have the most interesting ideas about the story of the day (and everything else :-)) .
Stories are the starting point for exploring values, civilizations, countries, people, food, cultures, animals, birds, insects.. and the list goes on :-)
Drawing is a wonderful way of self-expression and something that can be enjoyed irrespective of age and skill. The drawing activity related to the story gets an enthusiastic response from both children and their parents!
The older children (7 to 10 years) have a huge vocabulary list already. It is heartening to see the interest in the words: writing them down and of course trying to guess the meanings. Children are encouraged to look up the dictionary for meanings and 'hear' the words online. Positive peer and parental influence along with word games are all working very well.
Every child is encouraged to express his/her views on the theme/story of the day.
Please help me to tailor the program to your requirements. I hope you and your child(ren) would like to explore further, I will specify links whenever possible.
Thank you.
